MANUU Students Union takes Oath

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University's newly elected Student Union for academic year 2019-20 has taken charge with oath taking ceremony held on September 24 at DDE Auditorium. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor, administered oath to the office bearers.


Shaik Umer Faruq Quadri (student of M.A. English), President, Intekhab Alam (B. Tech.), Vice President, Amir (MBA), Secretary; Fakhra Abda  (M.Ed.), Joint Secretary, and G Vishnu Priya (B.A. Urdu), Treasurer, along with Executive Members of all Schools - Md. Salman, Waqar Ahmad, Yawar Jawaid, Mohammad Shahwaz, Md. Shamshir Alam, Md. Faizan and Abdul Qayoom took over the reins of students union.


Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, while congratulating new members said that we need to be connected to our roots and be thankful to the God. He urged the students to keep their spirit high and to respect all human beings. He also advised the students to organize departmental seminars, discussions and to prepare wall magazine to nurture their creativity and it is their responsibility to put their best efforts in these activities. If the output of academic activities is not satisfactory and if we do not do enough on research front too then the institution will be left behind in the competitive race. The Vice-Chancellor also spoke about path breaking reforms in the conduct of examination and the novel practice to share the answer scripts with the students before declaration of results. This is being praised by other Universities. He said that there are plans to do PhD enrollment twice a year, so that students whose results come late can apply as well.


The newly elected President, Umer Faruq in his address spoke about promoting academic activism and pledged to encourage democratic atmosphere on the campus. Ideology of Maulana Azad about tolerance, brotherhood & secularism needed to be promoted, he added. He also highlighted various issues faced by the student fraternity.


Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Chief Returning Officer, presented a brief report about the elections held on 19th September and introduced office bearers. 


Dr. Karan Singh Utwal, Deputy Dean, Students Welfare welcomed the gatheringand Dr. K. M. ziyauddin, Assistant Dean proposed vote of thanks.Prof. Ayub Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor, was also present on the occasion.
